Are you a senior or an adult living with a disability who struggles with meal preparation? Would healthy, prepared meals - delivered directly to you - help you stay in your home and enjoy your independence?
Meals on Wheels is a community outreach service that provides low-cost, nutritious meals to eligible seniors and adults with disabilities. In 2025, NL Health Services plans to expand the program in our Eastern-Urban and Eastern-Rural zones. Meals on Wheels is currently available in St. John’s, Carbonear, Grand Bank, Bonavista and Placentia. We have heard that there may be interest in offering Meals on Wheels in other communities, including:
- Paradise
- Conception Bay South
- Torbay
- Portugal Cove
- St. Phillips
- Clarenville
- Burin
- Marystown
- Grand Bank
- St. Lawrence
If you live in the Eastern-Urban or Eastern-Rural zone and are a senior or an adult living with a disability - or if you support a family member who is a senior or an adult living with a disability in these areas – we want to hear from you!
NL Health Services has some decisions to make about expanding Meals on Wheels. We are seeking feedback on where to offer the service, what costs individuals can afford, and when to deliver meals to clients. Your feedback is important to us. This page links you to a brief survey and information about the Meals on Wheels program. Additionally, you can request a presentation to your community group or organization to discuss Meals on Wheels.
The main survey on this page closed June 14, 2025. A second survey clarifying some points in the first survey opened July 30 and will close on August 18. A What We Heard report will be released after that. The team will then decide where, when, and how we can expand Meals on Wheels.
